BMI and BMI calculator

A Body Mass Index calculator can help you keeping an eye on your weight. BMI (body mass index) can show you if you’re a healthy weight for your height. Use this BMI calculator to check the adults in your family. But remember that the result does not give you an answer is you are health or not. It’s just one of many techniques and tool.

Please do not use the BMI calculator for measering the weight of children and for pregnant women. If you are very muscular it might give not the correct result either. Same as for people with higher age then 65 since elderly people are loosing muscle mass.

To calculate the BMI it uses a simple formular. Body Mass Index is a simple calculation using a person’s height and weight. The formula is BMI = kg/m2 where kg is a person’s weight in kilograms and m2 is their height in metres squared. A Body Mass Index of 25.0 or more is overweight, while the healthy range is 18.5 to 24.9.

If you like to find out how your Body Mass Index is, it is recommendable to check with different BMI calculator on the internet. Not every BMI calculator gives you exactly the same result. Some calculators, which propably are more precise, use age as a metric too. Propably this will give you a better result then without this metric.
