Getting Started

To better facilitate the design process, to determine cost estimates, and to allow us to understand what you want, please review the questions below.

  • Do you need a domain name?  What domain name do you want and what are some alternatives?
  • Do you have a web host or wish to use a particular web host company?
  • Is this website for personal use, a business, or a non-profit?
  • Do you want to add or change content to your website yourself once it is launched?
  • Do you want to use a Content Management System (CMS) such as WordPress or Drupal?  Do you have a preferred CMS?
  • What is the purpose of your website: to inform, teach, sell products, increase business, collect information, entertain, provide communication?
  • What features do you want your website to have (e.g., ecommerce, blogging, forums, event calendar, newsletter signups, accounts for visitors, social networking)
  • Are there specific websites that you like?  What do you like about them? What are they?
  • Are there specific websites that you don’t like?  Why not?
  • Do you want your website to be streamlined for mobile phone users?
  • Are there particular colors that you want to see on your site?
  • Do you have content already for the site (e.g., photos, images, text)?  Do you need us to create this content?
  • What keywords will people use to search (e.g., with Google) for your site?
  • Are there sites having similar themes to yours that might link to your site?
  • When do you need your site launched?
  • What is your budget for this project?
